Erin, Wis. – Peter Uihlein claimed the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship title on the day he turned 21. What happened over the next 300-plus days for the Oklahoma State University All-American has been a blur. “I’ve never really been somebody that thinks too much about what I’ve done,” said Uihlein at U.S. Amateur Media Day conducted at Erin Hills on July 25, “but … I’ve done a lot in the last 12 months, and it’s all been because of the U.S. Amateur and winning the title.”

RUMFORD, R.I. – If there was one player in the field at this year’s 50th Northeast Amateur Invitational who didn’t need to impress U.S. Walker Cup captain Jim Holtgrieve or anyone on the American selection committee it would be Peter Uihlein.

That’s because the rising senior at Oklahoma State was already considered a lock to make this year’s 10-man U.S. Walker Cup squad after his performances since going 4-0-0 and leading the Americans to victory in the 2009 match and winning the 2010 U.S. Amateur title.

USGA Names Erin Hills Site of 2017 U.S. Open

Far Hills, N.J. (June 16) - The United States Golf Association has named Erin Hills, a daily-fee public golf course about 35 miles northwest of Milwaukee in the town of Erin, Wis., as the site of the 2017 U.S. Open.
